Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take credit cards?

No, we do not take credit cards — but if you need a different form of payment, you can do that before the start of the job.

When do you expect payment?

Generally, we expect payment when the job is done; if the job spans many buildings or apartments, we may ask for intermediate payments but that expectation will be laid out in the quote.

If you catch something that wasn’t intended, can I let it go for you?

No, our traps are not to be touched by anyone but us! We take careful precautions to keep humans away from traps and trapped animals, who tend to be angry when trapped. Releasing them can lead to bites or scratches, which can lead to infection. Please leave all trapping and releasing to the professionals.

Can I call you if the traps are full?

Yes, please feel free to call us if the traps are full. We’ll make every effort to get to you sooner. Ideally, call us before 8 a.m. in the morning so we can plan/adjust our travel routes accordingly.

Do you work in apartments?

Yes, we work in apartments regularly. The renter should contact the owner/landlord of the property so we can fix the whole building.

Do some invaders have seasons?

Yes, some animal invaders have seasons. One prominent example is bats. While we can remove a bat from a living space any time of year, we can only do exclusion up until May 31, and cannot start again until September 1.

Are some of the animals you remove state or federally protected?

Yes, some of the animals we remove are state or federally protected, most notably birds of prey.

Are you insured?

Yes, we are insured.

Do you work weekends, Sundays, and holidays?

Yes, we work all of the above.

Do you work all year round?

Yes, we work all year round.

Do you remove mice and rats?

No, mice and rats are a pest control issue. However, if Best Wildlife is on-site at your property, we can provide glue traps to you for a small charge.

Do you charge to remove dead animals?

Yes, we charge to remove dead animals. It still takes time and effort to remove them, and it may be more difficult depending on how long they’ve been dead. We do not remove dead deer or bears.

What is the difference between pest control vs. wildlife removal?

Wildlife Removal

Wildlife removal is generally focused on intrusive (and often larger) animals that have taken up residence on your property. They are instead focused on trapping and removing and/or relocating the unwanted animals safely.

Some examples of common wildlife that we trap and relocate are:

● Raccoons

● Skunks

● Beavers

● Foxes

● Snakes

● Squirrels

Pest Control

Generally speaking, pest control deals with the removal of bugs, insects, and sometimes even rats. Examples of this include:

● Termites

● Wasps

● Ants

● Cockroaches

● Bed Bugs

● Fleas

● Spiders

Compared to intrusive wildlife, many pests – such as ants, termites, and cockroaches – can multiply relatively quickly and damage the structural integrity of your home. Pest control is focused above all on elimination and very rarely deals with relocation.
